“Alexa, play Takin’ Care of Business”

This morning, while sipping my iced coffee from my Bags for Boobs cup (as one does), I flipped through the binder that officially marks the next chapter of this journey: Chemo Courage Bags Inc. (dba Bags for Boobs) is now a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit!

Securing 501(c)(3) status is a game changer—it means our mission is now formally recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt charitable organization, which opens doors for more grants, employer-matched donations, and broader impact. But getting here wasn’t easy.

For the past 2.5 years, this has been my heart and soul—a passion project born from love, resilience, and a desire to show up for breast cancer warriors in a tangible way. Between paperwork setbacks, delays, and having our name initially denied for being “inappropriate” (yes, really), not to mention personal hurdles along the way, this moment feels… surreal.

Thank you to everyone who believed in this mission before it had a title or tax code. We’re official now. Let’s fill the world with more love, more strength, and of course—more bags.
