It was all a dream…
Hi everyone,
On October 29, 2022, my beloved mother lost her courageous battle with triple negative breast cancer. Over the course of seven years, she fought both breast and ovarian cancer with remarkable strength and grace. But what stays with me the most is not just her resilience—it’s the compassion and generosity she received from the incredible support communities that surrounded her.
I’ll never forget the day of her first chemotherapy session for triple negative breast cancer. As she arrived at the oncology center, a woman was waiting for her—holding a bag filled with comfort and care. Inside was a plush blanket, cozy socks, and other thoughtful items that made an otherwise daunting day feel a little more bearable. That stranger’s simple act of kindness planted a seed in my heart that I’ve carried with me ever since.
She inspired me to start making chemo care bags of my own—first for close friends and loved ones who were facing their own battles. Over time, as the need grew, so did the vision.
And so, Bags for Boobs was born.
In 2023, I officially began the journey of turning this labor of love into a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with the mission of delivering care and comfort to breast cancer patients across the U.S.
Since our inception, Bags for Boobs has donated over 250 chemo care bags—each one made possible through generous support from our community. Whether it’s through Amazon Wishlist contributions, direct donations, or corporate partnerships during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the holiday season, these acts of giving have allowed us to keep showing up for those who need it most.
But we’re just getting started.
If we want to expand our reach and deepen our impact, we need your help. That’s why I’m sharing my story with you today—not just to honor my mother’s memory, but to invite you to become part of this mission. Whether you choose to donate, sponsor a bag for a loved one, or simply share our cause, your support helps us wrap someone in warmth, hope, and love.
With gratitude and heart,
Deb
